Battle of the balms.

If you read my Mini Make Up Bag post you will know when it comes to anything of the lip variety I have no self control. This is the same for lip balms because who doesn't love lusciously soft moisturised lips? Especially in winter when they get can become chapped in about 30 seconds.

I have a variety of balms although weirdly their all higher end, I used to be dedicated to Vaseline as they did actually hydrate my lips but since loosing both of my Crème brûlée version they just don't do it for me any more / I'm still really upset because I bloody loved it! This is my top 3 get them if you can balms that every girl should have in their collection.

My first 'not from the drugstore' balm is one that reminds me most of Vaseline but better smelling and with a bit of colour, the Korres Lip Butters. I have the shade Plum which when looking for link appears to be out of stock everywhere! I think it's a really nice touch that these products not only have great pigmentation but that the colour, name and scent all match up perfectly, they say it's the small things after all. I do really like this product and am hoping to get more shades because sadly Plum is just a little too dark to be used outside of the winter months. However, the highlight of the product itself is the pigmentation, the right balance between sheer and opaque in one application, other than that it's a bit of a let down. You know how many people would say Vaseline would just sit on your lips? I never understood that but now I do, it's a shame.

The most expensive of the trio is the Dior Lip Glow which I'm actually on my second tube of after managing to loose my original purchase, gutted! This has a gorgeous vanillary mint smell to it, kind of like the smell of the mint tictac pots, minty enough to feel fresh but not like the Revlon Blams which to me are just too much. This is one of those fancy balms that react to your PH level and so will look different on everyone but will give the most naturally perfect pink lips, ideal for those no make up make up days. When it comes to moisture giving it does help soften the lips but I very often find to keep that moisture up you need to reapply it. The packaging is cute, it smells delicious and the colour it leaves is adorable although to be perfect it'll need to up the moisture for me.

Nuxe Reve de Miel by now you've all heard of it if you haven't yet brought it, it's the very thick balm that smells good enough to eat and can moisture your lips like no other. I actually have a real love hate relationship with this, I brought mine coming up to a year ago and haven't even got half way through. When I first used it I was surprised by it's thickness and tried to save this for before bed but I sometimes feel it's just too much however, recently it was the only thing I wanted. When this melts a little I find it much more appealing to use but know it'll always be in my stash for those times when my lips are really crying out for something more.

So there you have it, everyone always says I have expensive taste and this just proves it. However, despite the price tag at 9 out of 10 how can you go wrong?
