*two oopsies in this photo; Si is currently having a sleepover at a friends house & say hi to me in the dior lid, doh!
The last two months have been rather bountiful for my beauty stash
what with Christmas, the boxing day sales & new me new make up ringing in my head it was unlikely to remain untouched, here's a run down on my favourite 7; like Enid Blyton's secret 7 but so, so much better.
Top of the list & my most adored addition was The Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing balm. This was actually a gift from my boyfriend who had heard my cooing over it one too many times, that or he got bored of seeing it on every christmas/birthday wishlist for the past 2 years! I don't know why I didn't pick this up sooner I always wanted it but something always stopped me especially as it really is everything they say & more. When mixed with water the balm just feels divine on the skin, I use it as part of a double cleanse (I only ever double cleanse thanks to my dastardly blemish prone skin) and it removes the last bits of grime from my skin whilst seeming to rehydrate it, my skin never feels anything less than baby soft when I've used this. If you're worried about the price don't be you need the tiniest amount, I've used mine every day since I got it & often twice a day but you'd barely even notice any gone from the pot.
In 2nd place is something that has reach Holy grail status, oh yes I went there. Hydraluron. If you haven't tried it get down to boots & just thank me later, if you do have it you'll know what I mean, I actually got my 4th repurchase of this product after Alix gave me the heads up on twitter that it was a third off! I wasn't even half way through my 3rd tube of this beauty such is my fear of ever being without it. It's pure hyaluronic acid which helps the skin hold up to 1000 times its weight in water meaning dehydrated skin is no more & it helps keep your skin generally moisturised allow it to reduce skin roughness by 10% & increase skin elasticity by 27% this guy really is a big gun in a small decently sized tube.
In 3rd is my now twice brought foundation of choice Dior Nude. It's just a dream to wear & having been all out of it for a week it was just too much before I paid the hefty price tag for it, you can get some bargins but for a quick buy it's around the £30 mark. This was a foundation I didn't even know existed until I got a sample in a magazine, I was most excited about the fact it was actually in my shade as normally they're far to dark but I tried it out on a day I was going no where & just knew I'd met the one. A little goes a long way, the colour range is amazing especially as little miss pasty, ginger haired, irish girl over here is the second lightest shade! second lightest! normally I'm not even the lightest! It barely takes anything to blend into the skin leaving you looking like you've just naturally got a perfect skin tone, I'd say it's almost certainly a medium coverage but can be built up to full without ever feeling heavy, it wears beautiful even on my sometimes oily skin, not so much on my chin but I'll forgive it for that. The only downside is that because of the amazing packaging (would you expect any less from Dior?) you cant get it open to get the last few dregs out which no doubt would've saved me the week without it, yet even with that if I had to have babies with any foundation, it's this little guy no questions asked.
A very close contender for 3rd is actually my 3rd repurchase of a product that I just don't seem me every going without, the Bumble & Bumble Sunday shampoo is just the absolute best at what it does. This is exactly what your hair needs are a week of products & maybe even the naughty skipping of a hair wash day, it removes all it. Your hair literally feels brand new after you've used this although I wouldn't use it every week as it can be a little drying. I always use mine with a mask after & it cleanses your hair so much you could just eek out an extra day off unwashed hair from it.
I have a confession, until about 2 months ago I never did my eyebrows. Don't get me wrong I've had them waxed... Once over 5 years ago in America... & I did by the Mac brow duo but I didn't really use it. My problem is my brows are quite big (well I think so, I'm no Cara Delevingne, much as I pray for a permanent Freaky Friday style switch) which meant I just felt like I had massive Charlie from Busted style brows going on instead which just wasn't a good look when I rock barely there make up. Then this wonder brow pencil came into my life, when I think back to the day I unboxed it I can almost hear the chorus of angels sing, Anastasia Brow Wiz is just, oh. They have a colour to match my eyebrows which I didn't think possible as normally if you don't have blonde or brown hair you just don't have eyebrows. It' a hard texture so there's no harsh drawing on of eyebrows just enough to put in extra hairs, whilst the spoolie gets the hairs just where you want them brushing out any excess you may have put in.
The little guy who is missing from the photo above my Si perfume from Georgio Armani again wasn't something I ever really wanted wanted until I got it as a sample from a magazine & I just fell in love. I'm already an Armani perfume lover because to me that period where autumn becomes winter just smells like Armani Code. Si is a fruity offering which is strong enough to stay around literally all day; who doesn't love when that happens, but not enough to induce headaches (Roberto Cavalli I'm looking at you!) The most exciting thing about this perfume is that is sensual enough to work in winter but I already know it will be my smell of summer!
Origins. Need I say more? When it comes to skincare they just knock it out the park & at a not too extortionate price for what they could charge, just don't tell them! I already have their Drink Up Intensive mask, Ginzing moisturiser & their plantscription concealer (which I'm sure I would love it if I got the right darn shade!) Like I mentioned before my skin is blemish prone so I've been eyeing up their Clear Improvements mask from the moment I got into beauty, yet always brought alternatives instead but this does what it says on the packaging. Brilliant for getting all the grime out when your skin feels congested & one of my saviours on New years day when my skin was less than impressed with me.
So there's my top picks of beauty additions, I'm off to tie my hands down to avoid more sales splurging although I'll never say no to some enabling, what have been the latest additions to your stash?
