I know much to my distress that Christmas is over, new years has been & we are now on the 2nd week of January but it is still bath season!
To be honest my bath season generally runs until mid to late Spring, well it did last year thanks to that heat wave we had over here in the UK, it really was a very out of character Summer & I by that I mean it was actually warm, we were hotter than other countries & there was no grey in the sky! Now when I say bath I'm not talking a means to get clean, no no no. A bath to me must involve all 5 criteria or it simply isn't a bath it's more just sitting in water; a bath bomb, a candle, good music, a book/magazine & be done in order to defrost/retreat from the hideous world outside.
Over the last year or so I really got into Lush, I'd kind of avoided it previously mainly because of the smell but now I have learnt to love that smell, to bathe in it even (see what I did there?) Therefore this Christmas I was well & truly spoilt when it came to bath time treats, boy do my friends know me well:
Now although I was into Lush last Christmas meaning I knew about Snowfairy & the other christmas classics I hadn't actually tried any of them, so my this set was my first introduction to the Christmassy sents Lush do so well & it was a good one! The set was from secret santa; luckily she was my closest friend during training & knew just what I'd want, with the £5 limit we'd set she got me the Cinders & Snowman bath bomb set. I've already used the Snowman which was an absolute treat, the smell is right up my street & he generally is adoreable. Cinders is something slightly different that I hadn't thought've buying myself but I just adore the smell, it really is a proper winter time scent that makes me feeling like I'm in the little cottage from The Holiday.
The next set I was gifted made me squeal out loud, in public with excitement. I'd wanted to try snow fairy since everyone went mad for it last year but didn't want to pick it up until I'd smelt it in the shop to make sure I liked it. It's safe to say I do, it's a lot sweeter than I normally go for but something about it just works, I know now why everyone raves about it. Here is where I inform you of the saddening news that I have lost said bottle of Snowfairy, it's belived to be hinding the in the other halves car but until then I'll have to wait to enjoy its sugary goodness. The set; which was a cheeky extra present from my best friend, came with the shower gel (she knows I'm more of a shower girl) a snow fairy/pink grapefruit soap which is delicious & the vanilla shimmer bar. Vanilla, shimmer & Snowfairy, you see why I squealed.
The final & biggest set of my collection was one I actually ordered for someone else after they got me a present despite saying we weren't doing them (don't you hate when that happens!) but when a better present for them came along I made the tough decision to keep it rather than return it. I kid. I got the Santa's grotto collection which was adorably wrapped in towel that had the pattern of a ginger bread style house on it, it was already too much that I didn't want to open it but that lasted for about 30 seconds before I went about undoing it. The first guy I pulled out was another Snowman which I was more than happy about after being a little sad that I'd used him so early, next was Cinders to join its brother in my duo, then came the exciting ones. The Father Christmas bath bomb is the only bath bomb that makes me smile when I see it & with me getting more into orangey scents the mandarin oil in this makes me excited to use it. The final bomb was the biggest & the bestest & the one I'd always eyed up but thought it was far to big, far to bright to be my cup of tea but I was wrong. Secret Santa is a delight on the eye, a part of me doesn't to use it but I will especially after finding out it has a Father Christmas bath bomb inside it, say whaat?! So to the person it was for, thank you for being more into tea than baths!
Alongside the collections I got I decided to buy myself some little treats before they were whipped away for the year. Now, I now before I said I really like Cinders & unknowing that it was in the santa's grotto collection I brought a single one, I think three is maybe just one too many? They always say three's a crowd. Then I made the very, very clever decision to get a bath bomb that I eyed up almost more than Snowfairy, Golden Wonder. Just take a moment to look at it, there's a bow, there's gold, it rattles when you shake it what more persuasion would I ever need to buy it, so I did. Two of them & I regret nothing.
Now, lets be honest there was no way I could right his post without having a bath afterwards so I'm off to get my Golden Wonder on, did you pick up any of the lush Christmas range? What were you most excited about?
