The Super Facialist

When it comes to skincare there is such a wide variety out there for us all to try, for every budget, skin type & season it's not hard to see why gems can often get lost in the mix. Here's where I introduce you to a product that is not only purse friendly but lazy people friendly too, yep it's a good one!

It was whilst
wandering through the beauty side of youtube that I was first introduced to Una Brennan & her Superfacialist range, I think it was during one of Kate's budget skincare videos. It was just at the point I was getting into skincare, wanting to break away from the ridiculously bubbly Clinique Liquid Facial Soap that I'd used religiously for a good few months. What first drew me was the fact she did Tea Flower products aimed at purifying pores, exactly what my spot prone clogged skin was looking for. It was a matter of days before I got myself down to boots to check her out & to my joy my local large Boots had an entire array of products from her. Months after my our first encounter I picked up the Vitamin C+ Brighten Skin Renew Cleansing Oil, I'd always been interested in the notion of cleansing oils but never really understood them. Like I've mentioned before I'm a naturally lazy person and especially when it comes to how quickly I can get into bed, the idea that all I had to do was splurge this on my face to be make up free and cleansed was a dream.

At the end of every night I thoroughly dry my hands (I always wash my hands before cleansing to remove any dirt that could be lingering) pouring a small amount of this into my cupped palm. This is my one and only grumble, how can it not have a pump? Luckily now being at the very end of the bottle I know how slowly to tip to get just the right amount out, whilst in the beginning there were many a time I had almost the entire bottle in my hand! Not ideal. I pour about a £2 coins worth into my hand; maybe double that if I've had a particularly heavy make up day, massaging it into my skin whilst gently rubbing my lashes with it. This oil is so brilliant because no matter how much or what type of mascara I'm wearing it gets every last part of it off with not much effort, no long wearing eye shadow has a chance when this guys around. A little really does go a long way with this but on the days where you've had a mishap and poured a little too much just run your hands under water putting whatever is left on your hands on your skin to emulsify it and it's like it never happened. My favourite thing about this product though is the smell, it's smells like someone's squeezed orange juice straight into it. For anyone who has smelt the Origins Ginzing moisturiser it's like that but in my opinion so much better, who wouldn't want to smother that all over their face! Although it sounds weird to put an oil on your face once you get used to it it's a nice feeling that when washing off; I just splash my face with water rather than ruin a flannel, leaves your skin feeling cleansed and nourished even though to me all I did was take my make up off. At the time of posting Boots have an offer on meaning you can get the 200ml bottle for just £7.33 which for such a good quality product is a great price. Ordinarily it's £10 but even at that price it is more than worth it, I'm just coming to the end of my bottle that I've owned for at least 6 months!

This does state that it's part of a double cleanse and I do always use as part of double cleanse however, its a good one to have in your stocks for those nights when you roll in at 4am feeling worse for wear and just wanting to get straight into bed. With this in your cupboards it means you'll never have to turn to the face wipes to have your make up off and cleansed skin in seconds, who can say no to that?

Have you ever tried any of Una Brennan's range? What's your stand out?
